Position: Research Assistant Professor

Dr. Chen is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Design, Southern University of Science and Technology. She conducts research at the intersection of design and geology. Dr. Chen received her Ph.D. in Structural Geology from Sun Yat-sen University in 2020 and subsequently completed a three-year postdoctoral program there. She currently leads a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Fund project and participates in two NSFC General Program projects. She is a Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and holds its Advanced Gemological Certificate. She has published 18 papers in SCI-indexed and Chinese core journals. Her research covers the application of computer and artificial intelligence in jewelry design, including multi-objective optimization and AR-enhanced jewelry design. She is committed to promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of jewelry design and its sustainable development, integrating design and artificial intelligence methods to provide both theoretical and practical support for innovation in the field.
