SUN Xiaohua

Professor SUN Xiaohua is Chair Professor of the School of Design at Southern University of Science and Technology. She also serves as Vice Director of the SUSTech Institute of Robotics. SUN has over 20 years of academic and industry experience in interaction design and intelligent technologies. She has conducted research and taught at MIT, FXPAL, IBM Research, Clarkson University, and Tongji University. Previously, SUN served as Vice Dean of the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University, where she also directed the Center for Digital Innovation, the Tongji-MIT City Science Lab, and the AI and Big Data Innovation direction of Shanghai Peak Discipline of Design. SUN is also the chair member of the Information and Interaction Design Committee of the China Industrial Design Association.

SUN focuses on research in adaptive learning for service robot, human-vehicle interaction in autonomous driving, and intelligent medical care and rehabilitation. She has long-term collaborations with renowned companies, such as Alibaba, Huawei, SAIC, Intel, Ford, VGC, PSA, SAP, Siemens, and Philips, which has driven technical and product innovations in related areas. SUN received her master and Ph.D. in Design and Computation from MIT.
