China Charity Fair | Tech-Driven Inclusive Innovation Advancing Modern Philanthropy

From September 15 to 17, 2023, the School of Innovation and Creative Design at Southern University of Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the School of Design) participated in the 10th China Charity Fair held in Shenzhen, invited by its partner WABC Shanghai Art for Charity Foundation. The theme of this year's Charity Fair was “Building Modern Philanthropy Together, Pooling Strength for High-Quality Development.”

Under the guidance of School of Design Assistant Professors Seungwoo Je (Zhushengyu), Mirna Zordan, Li Xuelian, and An Pengcheng, alongside their collaborative teams, multiple groups comprising undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students showcased a series of research outcomes integrating “public welfare + technology + design.” These projects are dedicated to advancing inclusive technological innovation through design.

China Charity Fair is the nation's sole national-level, comprehensive, and international charity industry event, having successfully convened nine editions. This year's fair is co-hosted by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (National Rural Revitalization Administration), the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Red Cross Society of China, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the Guangdong Provincial Government, the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and the China Charity Federation.
