On the morning of May 27, 2026, Professor Christian Grewell from New York University Stern School of Business, together with his delegation, visited the School of Innovation and Creative Design at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech Design School). The visiting group included 28 students, two professors, four university staff members, and two industry professionals.
During the exchange, the delegation toured the School’s laboratories and observed the outcomes of students’ course projects. Throughout the visit, faculty and students from China and abroad engaged in discussions on design innovation, product development, and practical application.
After the tour, two students from NYU Stern presented their independent innovation and entrepreneurship projects. The first project was a personal safety hair clip design that combines an everyday accessory with protective functionality. The second was a VR cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training tool integrated with a physical silicone human model, which uses virtual reality technology to improve first-aid training methods and enhance hands-on training outcomes.
Professor An Pengcheng from the SUSTech Design School, together with postdoctoral researchers Zou Qianyuan and Zhang Xuesong and graduate student Lei Shenshen from Professor Seungwoo Je’s research group, participated in the review and exchange session. They offered suggestions for improving the presented projects from the perspectives of design innovation, application scenarios, implementation feasibility, and commercialization.
